The Armenian cemeteries of 17 villages of the once densely Armenian-populated Chaharmahal district, located in Iran’s Islamic Republic’s Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, have been included in Iran’s national heritage list. This is reported by “Alik,” citing information conveyed to IRIBNEWS.IR by Mehrdad Javadi, the head of the province’s Cultural Heritage and Tourism affairs.
Emphasizing the importance of preserving the country’s spiritual, national and cultural heritage, Mehrdad Javadi, in particular, highlighted the issues of the proper preservation of the Armenian cemeteries in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, the need for landscaping, ensuring lighting, and repairing roads in those areas.
