Seventy-five Armenian army servicemen are leaving for Moscow to take part in the military parade dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the victory in the Second World War, Shushan Stepanyan, spokesperson for the Armenian Ministry of Defence, told Azatutyun.
The contingent, according to Stepanyan, will carry the flag of the Taman Division, thrice decorated during the war, along with the Armenian tricolour. The defence minister has also received an invitation to attend the parade, though no word has yet been given on his participation.
During a telephone conversation with Russian Federation President Putin on 1 June, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed the hope that he would have recovered from the coronavirus by then and would be able to attend the event in person.
