Olympic champion, three-time world champion, four-time European champion in the 97 kg weight class, Artur Aleksanyan advanced to the final of the European Championship.
According to Armenpress, at the European Championship taking place in Rome, Kevork Gharibyan in the 60 kg weight class advanced to the final, where he will compete against Kerem Jamali, representing Turkey.
In the 82 kg weight class, Ruben Gharibyan lost 5:3 in the quarterfinals to Ciro Rosso, representing Italy.
In the semifinal of the 97 kg weight class, Artur Aleksanyan competed against Matti Elias Kuosmanen of Finland. Aleksanyan celebrated victory with a score of 8:1. The Armenian wrestler will compete for the European championship title.
Earlier, Malkhas Amoyan in the 72 kg weight class had been eliminated from the competition, having lost his opening bout.
This European Championship is not a qualifying event for the Tokyo Olympic Games.
