Participants of the Aurora conference visited Tsitsernakaberd on 20 October and paid tribute to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide. This was reported on the Aurora Facebook page.
“During the visit to the Armenian Genocide Memorial and Museum-Institute, the participants of the Aurora conference paid tribute to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide. Through the joint efforts of the ATP charitable foundation and the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative, a ‘Tree of Remembrance’ planting was carried out,” the statement said.
It is worth recalling that the fourth laureate of the annual Aurora Prize has been named Mirza Dinnayi, co-founder and director of the organisation Luftbrücke Irak (Air Bridge Iraq). Driven by humanitarian motives, Dinnayi, overcoming numerous bureaucratic and logistical obstacles, was able to help Yazidis in dire straits during the many conflicts in Syria and Iraq. Mirza was declared the laureate of the 2019 Aurora Prize within the framework of the Aurora conference, during a solemn ceremony held in Yerevan on 19 October.
Mirza Dinnayi will receive a prize of 1,000,000 dollars, with which he will have the opportunity to continue the chain of humanity by providing support to the organisations that once inspired him. He has chosen three organisations that provide medical assistance and rehabilitation services to those affected by the terrorism of the “Islamic State.” These organisations are:
LuftbrückeIrak Irak organisation (“Air Bridge Iraq”)
SEED Foundation
ShaiFund.
The Aurora Prize is awarded in the name of the survivors of the Armenian Genocide, in gratitude to those who saved them.
