On the way to transport a wounded soldier from the front line, Doctor Sasha Rustamyan’s medical team, encountering a group dressed in Armenian military uniforms, stopped to offer assistance, but came under fire from an Azerbaijani-Turkish-terrorist infiltration group and was killed.
Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi announces that military doctors have been at the front since the first day of the war, serving under a double oath — the military oath and that of Hippocrates. Having earned a medical degree and wearing a military uniform, Sasha Rustamyan is one of those devoted individuals who fell while fulfilling their professional duty.
“Sasha Rustamyan’s mission does not remain unfinished. Despite the numerous injuries sustained, it was possible to save the life of the wounded soldier and the ambulance driver,” the statement said.
