Following the Lord’s commandments and helping people as much as possible — this is the path of a true Christian. Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, stated this on his Facebook page.

He specifically noted.

«Dear Armenian people,

Our Homeland is going through difficult times, yet the Armenian, being the nation that first adopted Christianity, has always overcome all difficulties through faith. The time has come to unite once again in faith.

Therefore, on the initiative of my family, a competition is announced to build a statue of Jesus Christ on the heights of the Armenian land. May it show the Armenian people the path of rebirth and light.»

In the video attached to the post, Tsarukyan notes that the statue alone must be 33 m in height. Such an initiative, according to Tsarukyan, will fill the Armenian people with hope and light. He promises the winner a great reward.
