Levon Aronyan’s Wife, Ariane Caoli, Has Died

Levon Aronyan, Armenia’s chess champion, has lost his wife, Ariane Caoli. According to Armenpress, Levon Aronyan announced this on his Twitter page. “I cannot find words to express my grief over the death of my wife, Ariane. She was a smart, hardworking and cheerful person who lived a beautiful life,” Aronyan said. Many renowned chess players responded with condolences beneath the post, notably world champion Magnus Carlsen, grandmaster Anish Giri and others. Aronyan’s wife was struck by a brick pillar on Sebastia Street on March 15 while driving her car. She was taken to hospital in serious condition.
