According to official data, Uruguay’s Minister of Tourism, Lilian Keshishian, has been elected as a member of the Senate. Keshishian, 67, a member of the left-wing Broad Front party, is the first Uruguayan Armenian to be elected to the upper house of the legislative branch.
In an interview with “Azadutyun,” Keshishian stated that in the Senate as well, she is ready to be of service to Armenia, situated in a complex region, and to its people. Lilian Keshishian has visited Armenia twice.
