In the 34th round of Italy’s football championship, Serie A, last night A.S. Roma hosted Inter Milan.
Armenian national team and Roma midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan dedicated his goal against Inter to Armenia.
“My goal … for my country,” Mkhitaryan wrote in the Stories section of Facebook.

Let us recall that days earlier Mkhitaryan had made a post addressing the events of recent days on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
“With the greatest concern I follow the tension taking place in recent days on the borders of our homeland, the news about targeted settlements, and I want to express my solidarity with our brave soldiers, who at the cost of their lives defend our homeland with their heroic actions.
With deep sorrow I offer my condolences to the families of our heroic martyrs and pray for the speedy recovery of the wounded soldiers. I wish peace for our homeland,” Mkhitaryan had written.
