Number of Tourists Visiting Armenia Up 14.4%

In January-September 2019, 1,459,152 tourists arrived in Armenia, an increase of 14.4% compared to the same period in 2018. These figures were published by the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia. It should be noted that in January-September 2018, 1,275,209 tourists visited Armenia. In January-September 2019, 1,459,152 tourists arrived in Armenia, an increase of 14.4% compared to the same period in 2018. These figures were published by the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia.

It should be noted that in January-September 2018, 1,275,209 tourists visited Armenia.

According to statistics, during the 9 months of this year, 1,312,282 people left the republic for tourism purposes, an increase of 14.3% compared to the same period in 2018.

According to the United Nations World Tourism Organization, an international tourist is any person who travels to a place other than their usual place of residence for a period of not less than 24 hours and not more than one consecutive year for leisure, medical treatment, visiting relatives, business, religious or other purposes. That is, their main purpose is travel, not engaging in work activities, in which case payments for the trip are made from funds obtained from work activities in the place of arrival.
