The Armenian Democratic Liberal Party’s Lebanon Regional Board announces with deep sorrow the death of faithful party member, ADL Lebanon Regional Board member, Comrade Vazgen Jamkochyan, which occurred on Saturday, 7 November 2020, in Beirut.
The Armenian nation and the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party have lost a devoted member, an unwavering servant of the Armenian nation, a selfless man, Doctor Vazgen Jamkochyan. We have lost a distinguished Armenian who took upon himself the duty of representing the party in national institutions and bodies. Such an Armenian we have lost today.
Nurtured with Armenian national spirit from a young age, Vazgen Jamkochyan attended the AGBU Levon K. Nazarian School. He continued his secondary education at the AGBU Hovagimian-Manoukian Secondary School. He received his university education at the Yerevan Medical University, where he graduated as a dentist. During the years of Armenia’s independence, he carried out significant party work in Yerevan within the Armenakan Aryan Movement operating under the auspices of the ADL, assuming responsible positions.
In 1993, he returned to Lebanon and established his dental practice. From those years on, he held responsible positions in his club and the Regional Board. He served numerous times as the party’s representative to the “Hayastan All-Armenian Fund” and other national institutions. This year, he assumed the role of party representative in the National Reconstruction Body established after the Beirut explosion. Wherever there was work, there was our dear comrade. Taking responsibility was a pleasure for him. He was a balanced person who had turned good deeds into his way of life. He was not one to dwell on details, but believed in the great work and its outcome.
Comrade Vazgen Jamkochyan will always be remembered as a respected, balanced, modest comrade, always ready to serve. Today we have lost a noble comrade possessing these virtues. Incense and prayers to his bright memory. May the earth rest lightly upon you, dear Comrade Jamkochyan.
