The Armenian community of Lebanon has paid tribute to the memory of the victims of the Beirut port explosion. “Ramgavar Mamoul” received this information from the ADL representative in the Lebanese Armenian Reconstruction Committee, Vazgen Zhakotchyan.
Our source specifically noted that today’s ceremony, held on Wednesday, 2 September 2020, was carried out under the auspices of the three Lebanese Armenian community leaders and at the initiative of the Lebanese Armenian Reconstruction Committee.
The spiritual and national leaders of the community participated in the requiem service held on the road opposite the disaster site for the souls of the victims of the port explosion, including the Chairman of the ADL Lebanon Regional Board, Avetis Dakesyan, in the presence of a large crowd of Lebanese Armenians.
The requiem service was accompanied by the singing of hymns and an online prayer for the innocent victims, which was spread through social media pages and was followed by more than tens of thousands of users, thus participating through their prayers in soothing Lebanon’s great pain.
