On Wednesday, July 29 at 10:00 a.m., at the House of Journalists in Cyprus, a press conference was held at the initiative of the unions of the Social Democrat Hunchakian Party, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation and the Ramgavar Azadagan Party operating in Cyprus, to explain to correspondents of the local press and television stations the military operations of the last two weeks on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
At the press conference, the representative of the Organizing Committee, Kevork Zeytuntsyan, presented the official statement of the three traditional parties, which particularly emphasized the deep indignation of the Armenian people at the inhuman encroachments of the Azerbaijani armed forces and, in general, at the numerous hostile acts of Azerbaijan.
He also referred to the joint Turkish-Azerbaijani military exercises to be held in Nakhichevan from July 29 to August 10.
The representative of the Organizing Committee, Simon Aynejian, particularly noted that the armies of Armenia and Artsakh have no reason to violate the ceasefire. Armies that have liberated Armenian territories and protect a creative people living within the borders, who yearn for lasting peace, which is also the desire of Armenia, Artsakh and the entire Armenian nation.
On the same day at 8:00 p.m., in front of the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Nicosia, under the organization of the three traditional parties, a public rally took place under the title “Solidarity with the Armenian Army,” in the presence of high-ranking state officials and representatives of the largest Greek parties operating in Cyprus.
During the rally, the state representative of the Armenian community, Vartkes Mahtesyan, and the Catholicosate Vicar of the Diocese of Cyprus, His Grace Archbishop Khoren Toghramajian, delivered speeches.
At the conclusion of the public rally “Solidarity with the Armenian Army,” the choir of the Holy Mother of God Church and the Hamazkayin “Sipan” dance group performed.
