The Armenian Church of St. Peter in Van Nuys, California was vandalized on Thursday. Eight very rare stained glass windows of the church were broken.
The priest of St. Peter’s Church, Der Shnorhk Demirjian, told the mass media that surveillance camera recordings showed that at 1:30 a.m. Thursday the attacker was dressed in black with a cap and carried a bag. At that time, he began smashing the stained glass windows on Sherman Way with a baseball bat.
The church council learned of the vandalism early Thursday morning and immediately notified the Los Angeles Police Department, which stated that it is actively investigating the incident.
The police have classified the incident as “vandalism.”
