Suspect in Desecration of Holocaust and Genocide Victims Memorial Identified

On 12 February, it was reported that the Holocaust and Genocide Victims Memorial installed in the Circular Park had been desecrated and damaged with red paint. Thanks to measures taken by officers of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Central Police Division, it was determined that the act was committed by a 36-year-old man. As a result of the officers’ explanatory work, on 15 February he presented himself to the division and gave a confessional statement. In connection with the incident, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 260 (Vandalism) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.

In connection with the incident, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 260 (Vandalism) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.

A preliminary investigation has been conducted.
