Turkey has banned the screening of a Netflix film about an 11-year-old “rebellious” Muslim girl.
Earlier, Netflix had withdrawn a Turkish series because of a homosexual character.
In the film “Cuties,” an 11-year-old Muslim girl begins to rebel against the traditions of her conservative family when she is captivated by a freedom-loving dance group.
In a statement by Turkey’s Supreme Council of Radio and Television, it was said that this film contains exploitation of children and crude treatment.
According to Turkish media, if Netflix continues to screen the film, its broadcasting license may be temporarily suspended.
