In Armenia, the unemployment rate in the second quarter of 2019 decreased by 2.6 percentage points compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 17.7 percent.
As reported by Armenpress, according to data from the Statistical Committee, the number of unemployed in the second quarter of the current year stood at 207,200 people, compared to 236,400 in the same period of the previous year.
It is noteworthy that the unemployment rate in the second quarter decreased significantly — by about 4.2 percent — compared to the unemployment recorded in the first quarter.
In the second quarter of 2019, compared to the same period of the previous year, the employment rate rose by 1.6 percent, reaching 47.9%.
