Renowned musician-composer and painter, member of Iran’s Armenian community, Loris Tjeknavorian has been offered the position of UN Peace Ambassador for Iran. This was reported by IRNA.
On Wednesday, with the support of the UN representation, an event titled “The Culture of the World” was held in Tehran, dedicated to the International Day of Peace.
At that event, Maria Dotsenko, Director of the United Nations Information Centre in Iran, welcomed Loris Tjeknavorian and a number of cultural figures.
She then read the message of the UN Executive Director on the occasion of Peace Day.
At that event, Loris Tjeknavorian, who has 70 years of artistic and humanitarian experience, was offered the position of UN Goodwill and Peace Ambassador for Iran.
