In the final, 6th round of the group stage of the Nations League, Armenia’s national team, included in Group 2 of League C, competed against North Macedonia on 18 November at the Neo GSP Stadium in Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus, and secured a victory with a minimal score of 1:0.
During the first half of the match, the teams were unable to open the scoring.
In the 55th minute, Hovhannes Hambardzumyan scored the only and winning goal for the Armenian team.
In the other match of the group, Georgia and Estonia played a goalless draw.
Thus, Armenia’s national team took first place in Group 2 of League C with 11 points. North Macedonia is in second place in the standings with 9 points. Georgia has 7 points and is in third place, while Estonia, with 3 points, is in last, fourth place.
The victory over the Macedonians gave Armenia’s national team the opportunity to be promoted to League B in the next Nations League tournament, where the opponents will be incomparably stronger.
