Russia’s invasion of Ukraine “will be a disaster” for Moscow, US President Joe Biden has said.
“If Russian authorities do what they are capable of — with their forces concentrated at the border — that will be a disaster for Russia,” the US President said, adding that America’s partners and allies are “prepared to inflict serious damage on the Russian economy.”
There is no basis to claim that NATO members will not be united in their response to Russia in light of the situation created on the Russian-Ukrainian border, the US President noted.
US Republican senators have also announced that they are working with Democrats on a new bill to help Ukraine. They propose cutting Russian banks off from the SWIFT payment system in the event of an attack on Ukraine.
