In the wake of the human and socio-economic crisis caused by the devastating explosion at the port of Beirut on August 4, the Pan-Armenian Council of Western USA (PAC-WUSA) has decided to immediately undertake emergency relief efforts, declaring a special fundraising campaign to reach our affected compatriots and community needs in Lebanon.
All donations will be transferred promptly and directly to the community emergency task force established under the auspices of His Holiness Aram I, the Catholicos, which is composed of all the major religious, political and charitable organizations of the Lebanese-Armenian community, for immediate distribution. Assistance will be provided for the immediate needs of thousands of compatriots—food, shelter, medical care, and so on.
This Council calls upon everyone to gird themselves and, with united efforts, to stand in solidarity with our sisters and brothers in Lebanon by generously contributing to the collection to be announced in the coming hours.
Furthermore, we call upon all our compatriots to choose with special attention and caution the fundraising campaigns being presented on social networks.
With united will, organized efforts, and open hearts, we shall stand in solidarity with our Lebanese-Armenian compatriots.
