Chess master Hayk Martirosyan has performed with excellent play at the 22nd chess tournament held in Basel. Out of 7 points, he earned 6.5 points and became the tournament’s winner.
Of the 7 games, Hayk finished only one in a draw. In the sixth round, he shared the point with Romanian player Andrei Istrățescu.
The Romanian, along with 2 other chess players, shared 2nd-4th places. Incidentally, Hayk Martirosyan is the first Armenian chess player to succeed in being recognized as the winner of the Basel tournament.
