The number of patients infected with the new type of “Corona” virus, COVID-19, worldwide is 339,530. According to «Armenpress»–, according to data from coronavirus research centres, the number of deaths exceeds 14,000. On 23 March, a notable increase was recorded in the number of recovered, surpassing 99,000.
China, where the outbreak began, continues to hold first place in the number of infected. Here the number of infected is 81,093. Italy is second with a large number of infected; there, 59,138 people have been infected with the “Corona” virus. Italy is the European country where the mortality rate from the virus is high, standing at 5,476. Italy ranks first in the world in mortality from the “Corona” virus.
The number of infected is growing rapidly in the USA, where according to the latest data 35,060 confirmed cases have been recorded; new cases number 1,514. With this indicator, the USA has moved into third place, ahead of Spain. Here too, trends of increasing morbidity are present. Specifically, confirmed cases here are 28,768.
Spain is followed by Germany, where the number of infected is 24,873, then Iran with 21,638 confirmed cases. In France the number of infected has reached 16,018, in South Korea 8,961, in Switzerland 7,474, in Great Britain 5,683.
In Russia, confirmed cases number 438. One person has died. In Georgia, one of 54 patients has recovered.
The first case has also been recorded in Syria.
According to the World Health Organization, the number of countries and territories where the virus has been recorded exceeds 190.
The National Centre for Disease Control and Prevention of the RA Ministry of Health reports that as of 23 March, at 10:00, the total number of confirmed cases of the “Corona” virus is 194; two people have recovered.
