According to a report by Armenpress, this was stated by Susanna Safaryan, Chair of the Tourism Committee of the RA Ministry of Economy, during a meeting with journalists.

“In 2019 we recorded 4.3 million total visits, which is 14.9 percent more than the 2018 figure. Last year we recorded approximately 1.9 million tourist visits, which was 14.7 percent more than in 2018. This year we have seen certain changes in the main markets. Russia, Georgia, Iran and the USA again lead the markets. In 2018, Germany rounded out the top five, and this year it is Kazakhstan. Among European countries, Germany and France are the leaders, and both have shown significant growth in 2019. Tourist visits from Germany to Armenia have increased by about 40 percent compared to 2018, and from France by about 20 percent. From both countries we have 30,000 and more purely tourist visits,” Safaryan noted.
