In the French town of Décines, where two days ago Turkish groups were seeking Armenians with threatening calls, representatives of the Armenian community delivered a message tonight.
“Know that for more than a month Armenians have been organizing peaceful protests for the sake of peace in Artsakh. On 28 October, around a hundred Armenians again organized a peaceful protest on one of the main roads. At that time, five individuals, armed with hammers and clubs, attacked the Armenians. The Armenians defended themselves. Afterwards, groups of the Turkish nationalist organization the ‘Grey Wolves’ condemned the Armenians and attacked passers-by in Décines and Vienne. They are provocateurs who want to stir up ethnic clashes in France between Armenians and Turks. This provoked the Turkish groups to seek revenge. On 28 October, hundreds of ultranationalists of Turkish origin came to Décines and Vienne to find Armenians. Armenians never hide. We are always united and will not yield to your provocations. We are on neutral ground and respect the laws of France.
But know that the attacks will not go unanswered, and the response will be very harsh. This video is a message.
Know that we unite as one person and protect our families. Stay calm and stop your provocations.
If your aim is to frighten us, know that you are on the wrong path.
Long live Armenia,
long live Artsakh,” the Armenians of Décines exclaimed.
