New South Wales Legislative Assembly Recognizes Artsakh’s Independence

The Legislative Assembly of New South Wales, one of Australia’s largest states, has officially recognized the independence of the Republic of Artsakh with 61 votes in favor. This was reported by the office of the Armenian National Committee of Australia. The motion was sponsored by members Hugh McDermott and Victor Dominello. The Republic of Artsakh was recognized with a vote of 61 in favor and 2 against. The parliamentarians also condemned the attacks by Azerbaijan and Turkey against the indigenous people of Artsakh, the Armenians.
