Istanbul police have arrested the person who, two days ago, tore the cross from the door of the Armenian Surp Krikor Lusavorich Church in Üsküdar.
As Istanbul’s Armenian “Agos” reports, the police examined about 200 video recordings and determined that the man, after tearing off and throwing away the cross, walked about 7 km and reached his home. He was immediately arrested.
The president of the church’s foundation, Eduard Ayvazyan, had personally informed the Üsküdar police chief about the incident. The latter had promised to identify the perpetrator in the shortest possible time.
