Russian Forces to Display Experience Gained in Nagorno-Karabakh and Syria

The combat experience gained in Syria and Nagorno-Karabakh will be incorporated into the basis of Russian peacekeeping operations during the “Echelon-2021” special exercises, to be carried out with the means and forces of the material-technical support of the CSTO collective forces. The combat experience gained in Syria and Nagorno-Karabakh will be incorporated into the basis of Russian peacekeeping operations during the “Echelon-2021” special exercises, to be carried out with the means and forces of the material-technical support of the CSTO collective forces. This was announced by the Deputy Commander of the Central Military District, General Alexei Lemyakin.

According to Lemyakin, the units will carry out training-combat tasks related to the assembly of infrastructure, the evacuation of armored vehicles damaged on the battlefield, the supply of material resources and ammunition, and other functions of technical support.

More than 500 servicemen from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Tajikistan will be involved in the operations.

In October, joint exercises will be held on the territory of Tajikistan, near the border with Afghanistan, with the participation of contingents from CSTO member countries. More than 2,700 servicemen will take part in the “Interaction,” “Search” and “Echelon” exercises. The exercise titled “Echelon” will take place on 18-23 October.
