Armenian chess leader Levon Aronyan wrote on his Facebook page:
“Dear compatriots,
Today we remember our fallen brave ones, who fought selflessly, defending Artsakh and Armenia. During the last 55 days we have lived through one of the most tragic moments in our history. No word can describe the grief that is in our hearts. We must prove to ourselves that the bright future we lost, in the person of young fighters, will not break us, but will unite us. Sufferings will turn into hope, and we will rise again. We have learned that nothing remains for us but to be ready to fight. Nzhdeh and Andranik fought because they were certain that Pan-Turkic ideology would not rest and would use all means of terrorism to rid itself of us. Let us be stronger than ever, and as my grandfather would say, it is just a cloud, it will pass and we will see the sun again. Glory to our heroes, may peace descend upon their souls,” he wrote.
