Syria’s parliament, on Thursday 13 February, unanimously adopted a resolution recognizing and condemning the Armenian Genocide. Journalist Sarkis Kasardjian from Syria informed Armenpress of this.
It should be noted that the resolution recognizing and condemning the Armenian Genocide was presented by the Syrian-Armenian Parliamentary Friendship Group.
The parliament had previously discussed the Armenian Genocide issue and paid tribute to the Armenian victims, but it was necessary to produce a decision condemning the genocide. For this very reason, the resolution was to be discussed and voted on during today’s parliamentary session.
