In Iran, 12 people have been arrested for participating in a rally in support of the 2020 Karabakh war. The detainees are Azerbaijanis, reported the Turan agency.
It has been reported that the court in the city of Ardabil, populated by Azerbaijanis in Iran, sentenced the defendants to 15 years in prison and 888 lashes. They were charged under articles of inciting and committing disorder against the police.
At the start of the 44-day war, hundreds of Azerbaijanis living in Iran took to the streets and expressed their support for Azerbaijan’s armed forces. Several dozen people were arrested during the rally.
