This year’s winner of the annual literary prize named after Hayk Naggashyan, one of the benefactors of the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party (ADL), diaspora Armenian prose writer and public figure, is Felix Yeghiazaryan. The poet-journalist is known in literary circles by the name Husik Ara. The writer took first place with his poetry book And Love Said.
The correspondent of Arevelk, present at the award ceremony held in Yerevan, reports that the literary competition, founded by Hayk Naggashyan’s family, is being held for the second year and, as we were informed, will continue. The writer’s widow, Sosi Naggashyan, in her greeting, congratulating and thanking the participants, stated: “You have made your contribution to Armenian literature, enriching it. You gave from your heart and soul. I wish you a fruitful pen, inexhaustible strength and ability to publish new volumes. I also thank the members of the jury, who lovingly devoted their time to reading and evaluating the books of the participating authors.”
In its first year, the competition was international in scope; among the participants were also foreign authors. The winner was declared to be the young poetess Ani Amseyan.
This year, the participating writers were fewer and only from Armenia. Seven authors presented their works in various genres, from collections of poems and short stories to novels.
