The trilateral military cooperation between Armenia, Greece and Cyprus worries official Baku. The day before, Ilham Aliyev made this statement while receiving the credentials of Greece’s newly appointed ambassador to Azerbaijan, Nikos Piperikos, referring to the problems that have accumulated recently in Baku-Athens relations.
“The second issue I wanted to mention is the military cooperation developing between Armenia, Greece and Cyprus. As you know, Armenia is the country that has occupied our territories. Armenia does not comply with the UN Security Council resolutions and displays a hostile posture. In a word, Armenia is an enemy of Azerbaijan. Under such conditions, the close military cooperation of any state with Armenia worries us, as it constitutes an existential threat to Azerbaijan,” Ilham Aliyev declared.
