Azerbaijan Spent About $2.67 Billion on Its Military in 2021

Azerbaijan has published the amount spent on defense and national security during 2021. According to the Trend news agency, the amount is stated in the government’s report. According to that document, Azerbaijan spent 4 billion 450 million of the 4 billion 580 million manats allocated for defense and national security during 2021. That amounts to more than 2 billion 670 million US dollars. The military budget was fulfilled at 99.2 percent, exceeding the 2020 figure by 786.5 million manats (462 million 647 thousand US dollars) or 20.9 percent.
