A Baku court has sentenced Tofiq Yagublu, an activist of the Musavat party, to 4 years and 3 months in prison. He was found guilty of hooliganism, Turan reports.
It will be recalled that on 22 March, another car collided with Yagublu’s car; those at fault in the accident approached the politician, who then attacked them. The police of the Nizami district opened a criminal case, but during the investigation all evidence was deleted from his phone.
Yagublu accuses the court and the authorities of fabricating the charge and carrying out a political order. In protest against this indulgence, he has begun a hunger strike.
