Nagorno-Karabakh is also included in the list of issues that the US and Turkish presidents are to discuss during their meeting on the sidelines of the NATO summit.
“The two leaders will have a broad and comprehensive agenda regarding regional issues, such as the Eastern Mediterranean, Syria, Iran, and Nagorno-Karabakh,” US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said during a press briefing.
He noted that Joe Biden and Recep Tayyip Erdogan will discuss many issues, including human rights. Saying that Biden knows Erdogan well, Sullivan noted that the leaders of the two countries hope to use this opportunity to consider all aspects of their relationship.
Noting that Turkey’s role in Afghanistan negotiations and diplomacy will also be on the meeting’s agenda, Sullivan stated that they will also address topics on which the two countries hold differing views.
