On 28 February, a divine liturgy was offered in Ukraine on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the Sumgait pogroms, with a service dedicated to the memory of the Armenian victims of the Sumgait pogroms held in Armenian churches. This is reported by AnalitikaUA.net.
The liturgy was offered at the Church of the Holy Martyrs in Kyiv, celebrated by Bishop Markos Hovhannisyan, head of the Patriarchal See of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Ukraine.
Attending the liturgy were representatives of the Union of Armenians of Ukraine and the Kyiv community, as well as followers of the Armenian Apostolic Church from the Ukrainian capital and surrounding regions.
Every year, representatives of the Armenian community of Ukraine hold events in various regions dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Sumgait tragedy.
