“No, I am not sure that we will be able to avoid war.” This was stated by Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in an interview given to CBS News’ Face the Nation program.
“I am sure that we will not start a war, and whoever starts it will not be the one to end it,” Zarif declared, adding that any possible conflict between the United States and Iran would not be “limited.”
The head of Iran’s Foreign Ministry again denied the accusations leveled at Tehran by the United States and Saudi Arabia over the attack on Saudi oil facilities. He criticized the Trump administration for sending additional American troops to the region.
Zarif also noted that Iran is ready to allow a team of international investigators to probe the attack and determine the culprit, provided that they be impartial. “Let them investigate, because it would take a miracle for them to be able to blame Iran,” Zarif said.
