Jake Sullivan, the United States National Security Advisor, met today in Istanbul with Ibrahim Kalın, the Turkish president’s press spokesperson and chief advisor, the White House announced.
They discussed their continued support for Ukraine and condemned Russia’s attempt to illegally annex Ukrainian territories.
They discussed regional security issues, including support for peace negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in resolving differences in the Eastern Mediterranean, and progress on Finland’s and Sweden’s membership in NATO.
