The Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, gave an interview to the periodical «Nouvelles d’Armenie».
«If recognition of Karabakh is the only solution to the current conflict, there should be no hesitation. I personally am in favour of self-determination. Armenia must be supported in this ordeal and struggle,» said Hidalgo.
The Mayor of Paris noted that she is very concerned about the situation that has arisen. Hidalgo also stressed that Turkey’s political and military support to Azerbaijan has deeply undermined the regional balance. According to the Mayor of Paris, the aim of those two countries is to exterminate the Armenians from the territory of Artsakh. Hidalgo emphasised that Turkey has started a dangerous game by giving mercenary terrorists the opportunity to join Azerbaijan.
