Frank Pallone, co-chair of the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues, on 31 March called for expanding U.S. military aid to Armenia and immediately halting military aid to Azerbaijan, citing the continued attacks by Azerbaijani President Aliyev’s regime against Armenia and Artsakh. This was reported by the Armenian National Committee of America.
“The United States must immediately halt military aid to Azerbaijan until that country’s government stops its attacks against Armenia and Artsakh, agrees to the peaceful resolution of regional conflicts, and demonstrates that it has ended human rights abuses,” Pallone declared during his address to the House Armed Services Committee.
He also noted that they should strive to send a more supportive signal to regional partners that, like Armenia, are undergoing democratic transformations, strengthening strategic cooperation with them.
The Azerbaijani side on 30 March attempted a reconnaissance incursion toward Armenian positions in the Noyemberyan district of Tavush province. Thanks to the actions of the Armenian position-holding forces, the adversary was repelled. The Armenian side suffered no losses; two servicemen were lightly wounded as a result of the operations. At the same time, the adversary targeted the villages of Baghanis and Voskevan, as a result of which a child resident of the Voskevan community was wounded while on a balcony at the time.
