Russian Federation Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will make an official visit to Azerbaijan on February 27-28. This was announced at a briefing held on February 22 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
The visit is dedicated to the first anniversary of the declaration of allied relations. Within the framework of the visit, meetings are planned with the President of Azerbaijan and the Minister of Foreign Affairs. It is planned to review the entire range of bilateral relations issues, as well as current regional and international problems. Special attention will be paid to the implementation of the agreements signed between the leaders of the Russian Federation, Azerbaijan and Armenia on November 9, 2020, January 11 and November 26, 2021, and October 31, 2022. “These documents are called upon and remain the most important element in the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which should contribute to the transformation of the South Caucasus into a zone of peace, stability and prosperity. On the second day of the visit to Baku, Minister Lavrov will deliver a speech at the plenary session of the Russian-Azerbaijani Expert Council.”
