French President Emmanuel Macron has said he wishes to run in the presidential election to be held in the country in April, but has not officially declared himself a candidate.
He answered a reader’s question from the newspaper Parisien as follows: “There is no unfounded expectation. I wish to. When conditions allow it, and when I have made that question clear for myself, I will say so. That decision must first be strengthened within me. I must be sure that I can go as far as I wish.”
France’s presidential election is to take place in April of this year. More than three dozen candidates have already announced their desire to stand for the presidency.
