A monument dedicated to the memory of the Armenian Genocide is to be installed in Israel. According to Armenpress, this was stated during a meeting with journalists by Dr. Alexander Tsinker, co-chair of the “Armenia-Israel” international public forum.
“Permission has been obtained, the corresponding model has been developed, and we have now begun fundraising for the creation and opening of a monument dedicated to the memory of the Armenian Genocide. It is planned to be installed in the city of Petah Tikva in Israel. The mayor there has changed, and we thought there would be problems, but, thank God, all matters have been settled,” said Alexander Tsinker.
A decision has been made to have the monument built in Armenia and then transported to Israel.
Alexander Tsinker noted that work is also planned in another direction. There has been correspondence between the former mayor of Petah Tikva and the mayor of Gyumri regarding the twinning of the cities. The new mayor of Petah Tikva is also in agreement.
