Turkish President Erdogan today criticised the European Union countries that condemned Turkey’s military operation in Syria during the meeting of the chairmanship of the “Justice and Development” party. Anadolu reports this.
In his speech, Erdogan noted that official Brussels has always been engaged in deception and has never been distinguished by sincerity. The Turkish president also noted that their country has accepted 3.5 million Syrian refugees, and “if Europe calls our operations in Syria an invasion, then we will open the borders to refugees.”
“European Union, come to your senses at last,” he said.
Apart from the European Union, Erdogan also touched upon Saudi Arabia and Egypt, which also condemned Turkey’s military operation in Syrian territory.
“Saudi Arabia should first look in the mirror and answer for putting Yemen in a difficult situation. Let it answer for that first. And Egypt should generally keep quiet, since a man who killed democracy in his country rules there,” said Erdogan.
