Russia is calling for an immediate ceasefire along the Karabakh-Azerbaijani line of contact. The Russian Foreign Ministry has issued a statement to this effect.
“According to available information, the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone has sharply deteriorated. Intense firing is underway along the line of contact from both sides. We are receiving reports of casualties. We call on the parties to immediately cease fire and begin negotiations to stabilize the situation,” the statement said.
