The customs sub-commission has approved a decision to introduce a temporary ban on the export of grain crops from the Russian Federation to EAEU countries. The ban will be in effect until August 31, 2022, for wheat and meslin, rye, barley, and corn.

“On March 10, the sub-commission on customs and non-tariff regulation and foreign trade protective measures of the Russian government commission on economic development and integration decided to temporarily ban the export of grain crops from the Russian Federation to EAEU countries,” the report states.

The department’s press service clarified that the corresponding proposal was received from the Russian Ministry of Agriculture.

The ministry recalled that grain exports outside the EAEU are already restricted by customs quotas and export duties, which were introduced to stabilize prices on the domestic market.
