Turkey’s Defense Minister Hulusi Akar has stated that Armenia should “extend a hand of peace and friendship,” as reported by Anadolu.
“We want Armenia to shake the hand of peace and friendship extended by Azerbaijan and Turkey, to stay away from provocations and focus on peaceful negotiations,” according to Azerbaijani media, Turkey’s Defense Minister Hulusi Akar has declared.
“Armenia must use this opportunity correctly. If Armenia upholds the ceasefire agreement, it can become part of peace and stability. That would contribute to the security and economic prosperity of all countries in the region,” he said, insisting that Turkey has “always stood for peace, tranquility and stability in the region and throughout the world.”
In Turkey’s city of Kayseri, Minister Akar hosted his Azerbaijani and Georgian counterparts. During the trilateral meeting, officials from the neighboring countries discussed the security situation in the region, as well as ongoing programs and prospects for cooperation in the trilateral format.
“The further expansion of strategic cooperation and collaboration between our countries is important for all of us,” Akar stated.
