The presidents of the United States and Turkey, Donald Trump and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, will meet on November 13 in Washington. This was announced by the Turkish leader’s office.
The day before, Erdogan had stated that he had not yet decided whether the planned meeting would take place and that he would make a decision only after a telephone conversation with Trump.
“Our president had a telephone conversation with Donald Trump. Both presidents have confirmed that they will meet in Washington on November 13. The sides also discussed bilateral relations and regional issues,” the statement said.
Donald Trump, for his part, wrote on his Twitter page that he had a “good telephone conversation” with Erdogan. During the conversation, the main topic was the situation created in Syria.
“Erdogan informed me that Turkish soldiers have captured several militants of the ‘Islamic State,’ including the wife and sister of the terrorist-murderer al-Baghdadi,” Trump wrote.
