Turkey’s state-run Anadolu Agency has reported that Saudi Arabia will close 8 Turkish schools during the current academic year. The Turkish Ministry of Education has been informed of this decision by the Saudi Arabian authorities.
According to the agency, 2,256 students attend the 8 schools. Last month, 26 Turkish schools were closed in the kingdom.
This development has deepened the already strained relations between the two countries. Earlier, Turkish goods had been boycotted in the kingdom.
